Content

           It always amazes me how animals are able to survive winter. Here in Alberta, we can have a chinook one day with temperatures around plus 5 or 10, and then the next day minus 20 or 30. Yet these animals not only survive but as illustrated in the photograph below, look pretty comfortable while doing it. I don't really consider myself much of a wildlife photographer but these mule deer seemed to have no problem with me hanging around for about 20 minutes taking a few photographs of the area. Either that or their bellies are frozen to the ground and they have to wait for the next chinook to move.
