Buller Pond

This is a photograph of Buller Pond in the Kananaskis area of the Canadian Rockies. Early in the autumn season you are  likely to see vibrant colors, sunny skies and relatively warm days. This image however, shows the change that occurs between autumn and winter. The skies are more dreary, colors become muted, the odd dusting of snow and the temperatures slowly drop. Little reminders that winter will soon be here.
The textures in the grass and the reflections of the trees in the pond drew me to this spot. Although late fall in the mountains may not be quite as photogenic as it is at other times of the year, it does tend to highlight the wild, rugged, and unforgiving nature of the back country. Attributes that make this place beautiful and unique.
