Spring Reveal

When the weather is not co-operating that doesn't always mean you can't find interesting subjects to shoot. Many photographers will turn their attention to what is on the ground and look for compositions termed 'intimate landscapes'. Rocks, logs, water, snow, leaves etc. can make for some compelling images when composed correctly and can save a 'bad' photography day.
The image below was taken on one of those days. When spring finally arrives, it's nice to see what the snow and ice have been hiding. I tried to frame this photograph so that I could capture the different elements of snow, water and rock and give it an abstract feel. I also used a longer exposure time to contrast the motion of the water with the still rock and snow.

  1. That looks incredible Andrew! Who would have 'thunk' that a rock could be so interesting!
