Myosotis Lake ( lower Skoki )

This photograph was taken a couple of years ago while on a backpack trip in the Skoki area  of the Canadian rockies near Lake Louise. This lake is the lower of two lakes also known as Skoki lakes. While standing between the upper and lower lakes I captured this image with Skoki mountain in the background.
Myosotis is the greek term for the genus of flower commonly referred to as ' forget-me-nots'. According to Wikipedia, in a German legend, God named all the plants when a tiny unnamed one cried out. "Forget me not O Lord!"  God replied , "That shall be your name."
Another legend from the 15th century has it that in medieval times, a knight and his lady were walking along a river. He picked some flowers, but because of the weight of his armor, he fell into the river. As he was drowning, he threw her the flowers and yelled, "Forget me not!"
I know I won't forget this lake and highly recommend the Skoki area as a great place to go backpacking.
