The Late Show

A few evenings back we had a brief summer storm. Usually that means interesting skies and great sunsets.  I am in the process of collecting a variety of rural images for a client and thought this would be a perfect opportunity to get out there to see what I could find. This evening would not disappoint. The timing of the storm couldn't have been better. It was short and sunset was right behind. While driving along a rural road I kept my on the sky. The challenge was to find an appropriate foreground subject to include in the composition that would complement the sky. It wasn't long and we came upon a grouping of sheds in a field. The trees not only added interest but allowed me to shoot directly towards the sun, helping to diffuse the light. As the clouds parted like a curtain, the sheds looked like they were neatly arranged and ready to pay attention to the amazing performance of light to the west, much like being at a theater. Hence the name- 'The Late Show'.
