Multnomah Falls

These falls were created to win the heart of a young princess who wanted a hidden place to bathe, according to Native American lore. Nowadays, this is definitely not a hidden place. Although you can see most of the falls from the highway it is well worth it to stop and endure the crowds to really get a sense of the beauty of this amazing set of falls.
The falls are approximately 611 feet tall divided into two tiers. The Benson bridge, built in 1914, allows you to get up close to this awe inspiring cascade of water. Some say this bridge is probably the most photographed piece of architecture in Oregon. It would make sense as tourists flock to this area because of its beauty and easy accessibility.
Multnomah Falls was definitely a highlight of our short trip to Oregon.
