Crystal Creek

A person has to admit that winter time in Canada, although cold and a little too long at times, gives unique opportunities for photography  not possible in other parts of the world. Clean white snow and crystal clear ice changes the landscape dramatically, obviously, but also the feel of an image changes. The image below is much brighter than it would be in the summer. The greens and browns of the moss are more noticeable, contrasting with the white. That being said, by the middle of April, winter gets a little old. Like many Alberta photographers, I am looking forward to seeing what summer has to offer for photo ops. Hopefully things warm up soon.
