Crescent Falls

Below is an image of Crescent Falls taken in early spring. It was quite challenging to get good shots as it was raining off and on the whole time we were there. This is one of the first shots taken from a viewing platform above the falls. As we made our way to the bottom of the falls, the composition was becoming more interesting but the rain would not let up. Add to that the watery mist created by the falls, and it was pretty much impossible to make a good photograph as I was constantly trying to clean the lens. Using long exposures to soften the water doesn't work to well in those conditions. Fortunately, this photograph was taken from a vantage point above the mist and I had some tree cover. Being above the falls obviously required the camera lens pointed downward which also helped to avoid water droplets from the rain. Next time I hope the weather cooperates.
