Oesa's Tears

At the far end of Lake O'Hara is a set of seven falls called Seven Veils Falls. The photograph below is a unique view of a portion of these falls. At the top of the cliff of these falls the water suddenly appears after making its way down toward O'Hara through a series of small lakes, the first of which is Lake Oesa, high above the falls in a beautiful alpine environment.-hence the name.
These falls are also known as the Seven Sisters. According to one of my guidebooks, this name supposedly comes from a legend where seven sisters were scared by a hunter and asked the mountain to save them. The mountain then turned them into seven water falls. Don't forget to click on the image for a larger view.

  1. Beautiful! When I clicked the image to make it larger...I could make out the waterfall so much better! Interesting legend behind this!
    Thanks Andrew!
